International students
If you are an international student with a disability, be sure to contact Disability Services at least one month before your arrival to explain your disability and your needs related to it. After you arrive, contact Disability Services to meet with a Disability Specialist, who will assist you with determining accommodations. Disability Services will team with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) to ensure you receive the necessary appropriate reasonable modifications.
If you’re not sure whether or not your condition may qualify as a disability in this country, contact Disability Services. You’ll meet with a Disability Specialist who can help you understand how your condition may qualify as a disability and what campus resources may be helpful for you.
If you suspect you have a learning disability or attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, you can take advantage of a free screening service. During the screening, you’ll be asked to complete a learning skills inventory and then meet with a disability specialist to review the assessment and decide whether or not you want to proceed with a formal assessment. While the prescreening is free, you’ll have to pay for the formal assessment yourself. We can provide you with advice and resources.
