Will my files be confidential?

DS keeps all disability-related information confidential to the extent required or permitted by law. The information you provide will be used to determine whether you have a disability and which reasonable accommodations may be appropriate. Sometimes, in order to determine or provide the most effective accommodations, DS may share limited disability information with other University of Minnesota personnel. This is done only on a need-to-know basis. DS guidelines for maintaining confidential information are detailed in the confidentiality statement that you will be asked to read and sign when you register with DS. A copy of your file may be released to you or others outside the University only with your signature.
