Sports and recreation
University of Minnesota Adaptive Sports Club
Get involved in sports and recreation by joining the newly established University of Minnesota Adaptive Sports Club. The mission of this club is to encourage, facilitate, and support the involvement of University of Minnesota students and staff with disabilities in active recreation, exercise, and sport. Employment and career resources
There are sixteen different career services offices at the U. Talk with your college about its career services offerings, or check out a listing of all U career services offices, as well as related employment and career resources.
The Workforce Recruitment Program for College Students with Disabilities connects employers with postsecondary students and recent graduates with disabilities. You must meet certain eligibility requirements to take part in this program. If you are interested in an interview or would like further information, please contact your disability specialist or Joyce Laher, the program coordinator, at 612-626-1333 (V/TTY). Application materials will be available by mid-November. Students will be expected to submit both an application and a resume. The interview date is not yet set, but interviewing is expected to occur in either late January or February 2005.
The Minnesota Business Leadership Institute, a consortium of business leaders, works to promote employment for people with disabilities.
