Workers Compensation

UReturn is the designated office to assist both employees and departments with case management needs of the employee that have sustained the work related injury. UReturn recognizes the mission to remain neutral and collaborates with the employee and the department to return the employees back to meaningful work as soon as possible. UReturn:

• Provides Job Analysis Services – determining job functions of both essential and non-essential tasks associated with the job.
• Provides suggestions about possible job reassignment and modification to specific job.
• Coordinates obtaining pertinent information as it relates to work from respective medical providers.
• Facilitates communication with respective Third Party Workers Compensation Administrator Staff, Sedgewick James.
• Facilitates and negotiates appropriate accommodation /modification needs.
• Organizes Return to Work efforts, which may include work hardening protocol.

In an effort to assure all of the University of Minnesota employees are being serviced well, UReturn collaborates with U of M Risk Management on lost time and ongoing workers compensation claims, and with the Department of Labor and Industry.
