Legal Responsibilities of Supervisors and their Departments
Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and the Minnesota Human Rights Act make it unlawful to discriminate in employment against a qualified individual with a disability. University policy calls for reasonable accommodations to be made for employees with disabilities on an individualized and flexible basis.
Each department has a legal responsibility to engage in the interactive process with an employee who identifies as having a disability.
